Our favorite bone broth recipes by the LOTUSWEI team:

Taylor made this amazing bone broth recipe when she experienced skin issues from getting bit by chiggers in South Carolina during a Flowerlounge trip!

Chicken feet’s high collagen content is excellent for the skin. It stimulates tissue regeneration, accelerates wound healing, improves digestive function, and helps move the blood. Health benefits aside, because there’s so much connective tissue in the feet, it makes the broth super gelatinous & gives it a thicker, silkier, fattier mouthfeel. Yum!

  1. Wash & cut all the vegetables.
  2. Wash the chicken backs, chicken feet & pork hock - put them in a pot of water on the stove & bring to a boil. Once there is a layer of white foam on the surface of the water, pour into a strainer & wash off all the foam.
  3. Add all ingredients to an InstantPot & cook at high pressure for 2 hours. If you’re cooking on a stove top, simmer on low for 5 hours.
  4. When the broth is done, strain & enjoy. Add a full dropper of Divine Within Elixir into every cup or bowl you drink or serve to someone else.
  5. The leftover veggies will be super mushy after high pressure cooking - you can eat if you don’t mind mush, feed to your pets, or compost!

Life-Saving Chicken Bone Broth Recipe

Katie calls it “Life-Saving” because it did indeed, saved a life. Her dog, Joy!

  • 2 lbs (or more) of chicken bones (all of the bones broken in half). If you or someone else has recently had surgery, or are weak from a sickness, Katie recommends using black chicken bones rather than regular. You can find them at your local Chinese or Asian grocery store.
  • 2 raw beets
  • 3 carrots
  • 3-4 celery stalks
  • 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Sacred Body Flower Elixir

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a pot & fill with (filtered) water until it covers the top of the bones & veggies.
  2. Place on the stovetop. Turn up the heat & bring the pot to a boil.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat and set on the lowest setting to simmer. Simmer with the lid on the pot all day (about 6-8 hours). If you start in the morning, your broth will be ready by the time you get home from work!
  4. Before eating, scoop off any excess fat that might accumulate at the top of the pot. Strain & enjoy. Add one full dropper of Sacred Body Elixir into every cup or bowl you drink or serve to someone else.

Grass Fed Beef Bone Broth

  • 5 lbs grass fed beef bones
  • 12 cups of filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 medium white onion, diced
  • 1 ½ cups chopped carrots
  • 1 ½ cups chopped leeks
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 8 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Your favorite flower elixir ~ not sure which one to use? Take our flower quiz!

  1. Preheat oven to 450º.
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the bones on the baking sheet & roast for 45 minutes. Flip the bones at the 25 min mark - make sure the bones are only browned, not charred!
  3. Once the bones are roasted, take them out of the oven and place them in a large stockpot. Cover the roasted bone with water & add apple cider vinegar. Let the bones sit in the stockpot at room temp for about 40 minutes.
  4. While the bones sit at room temp, chop the veggies! Put the onions, carrots, celery and leeks into the stockpot with the bones.
  5. Bring the stockpot to a rolling boil (for about 10 minutes), then lower the heat to simmer. After the first 2-3 hours, you will need to skim the layer of fat that accumulates at the top of the stockpot while it simmers & discard.
  6. For the best broth, simmer on the stove top with the lid on the pot for about 8 hours. You can eat it hot right away or place into seal-able jars (like a mason jar) to store. Make sure to freeze it so it keeps!
